Da Nang – The Travels and Adventures Continue (January 23, 2017)

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Hey everyone! I am writing to you all from Da Nang now… Yup, that’s right, I’m still enjoying my time in Vietnam, embracing the much warmer climate during these “winter” months…

As is typical when traveling, things don’t always go smoothly and the way you originally planned… In my case, the last apartment I stayed at in Ho Chi Minh City was amazingly situated (right next door to District 1), but for whatever reason, the wi-fi there was intermittent and altogether completely unreliable… So, that partially explains why I’ve been missing in action this past month or so…

That, and I’ve been prioritizing “going out and having fun” a lot more than anything else… Hey, just keeping it real with you all!

But with all that said, readers should have no doubts that I’m still doing my best to stay on top of investing news (particularly anything related to mining stocks), and I’ve actually made a number of significant moves which I will be sharing in another post…

For now, I’m just trying to get situated in a new city, yet again…

I had a wonderful and most memorable time in HCMC, but now it’s time to mix it up… After 3 weeks or so in HCMC, quite honestly, having the opportunity to be near the beach and able to catch the fresh morning air is… well, absolutely rejuvenating and priceless!

The 5-star resort I’m currently staying at…

Apartment right next to the beach!

Inside the apartment…

Quite lovely…

Haven’t we all dreamt about this at one point or another?

The lounge…

Delicious shrimp and pork spring rolls…

Dessert options…

“All you can eat”… Don’t mind if I do!

Late night pho… Surprisingly (or not), this was by far the best bowl of pho I’ve had so far in Vietnam… Room service at a resort, of all places! Go figure…

Early morning stroll… So peaceful…

Clean, soft, amazing…

A bit cloudy and wet this morning, otherwise perfect… Still plenty warm, though…

Early FI — There are no rules!

In fact, all the above was made possible through points and travel hacking… And of course, props to my resourceful brother who is the travel expert I rely on to help convert these type of dreams into reality…

Throughout the course of the journey towards early FI, no one says you have to do everything alone! Just like with investing, I do my best to try and seek out help from those who know what they are doing (and have far more knowledge than myself)

I ain’t nothing special at all… But since I started this blog in early 2012, I’ve always remembered to keep pushing forward and dreaming big!

Do you.

Do what makes you happy.

Enjoy your life…

Find YOUR beach!

Then, nothing else matters…

Fight On!

I haven’t seen a travel hacking mention in a while. Are you still able to accrue miles after Fire? Wasn’t sure if you are still opening cards for bonuses or have other routes now.

Unfortunately, no I haven’t accrued any new miles this last half year… Will look to do so again when I get back to the states in a few months.

Thanks! It was a 5-star hotel and a totally awesome experience!

      Take care!

I stayed at that resort when I was there, phenomenal. The French toast was the best I ever had. Make sure you get a chance to explore Marble mountain and have a custom suit made. Enjoy!

LOL! I DID indeed order some french toast while I was there! Will post pics soon 🙂

Yup, Marble Mountain is stunning indeed. Didn’t get to make a custom suit, but I heard about it, haha.

      All the best!

Looks great… I am in Thailand and I would like to visit da nang next month, sounds like a nice place to visit or live. I assume that great beach is south of the city? It doesn’t look like a city beach…!

Awesome, I hope you have a great time out there! Haha, the resort was the Hyatt Regency, I’m sure you’ll pass by it at some point.

That resort looks amazing. Would you mind sharing the name of it? I’d be interested in researching it for a future trip with my family.

Sure, it was the Hyatt Regency Da Nang Resort and Spa.
