Travel Updates

I’m back in the Bay Area, enjoying some good weather and sunshine. In the process of being back home, I’ve been making efforts to reconnect with friends, readers, and basically anyone who wants to talk shop about early FI, travel, and investing.

Just this past weekend, I had a string of meet ups and like always when I’ve been gone for awhile, It takes me time to continue reading at Steemit

Just a little over one year ago, I quit my engineering job so that I could pursue a life unscripted. For months prior to letting the mic drop, I contemplated my options and worked on figuring out where I wanted the journey to take me next.

After much deliberation, I ultimately [click to continue…]

I’m back in the Bay Area! Well, at least for the next few weeks or so before I hit the road yet again. It’s a little too early to say, but right now I’m making tentative plans to go visit Phuket in Thailand… And I know Chiang Mai is a very popular destination for digital [click to continue…]

I spent all day today traveling, but I finally arrived in Puerto Rico! This is my first time out here, and at first glance it kinda reminds me of Miami.

Just checked into a unit [click to continue…]

I’m still in the Bay Area, and it’s gloomy days like today that make me reflect back and think of the good times chilling out by the beach. No, I’m not really complaining much at all — The weather out here has been just fine and dandy, but today just so happens to be extra cloudy…

Anyway, I did realize that I never got around to uploading some recent pics when I was out in the [click to continue…]

As readers know, I’m back in the Bay Area now… and having one hell of a time trying to make ends meet here! When I checked out of the game for good last year, at the age of 31, I had a pretty good inkling that it would be really tough for me to survive out in the Land of High Tech (let alone thrive), so within a matter of a few months, I had booked my ticket out to Hong Kong and said “peace out” to Silicon Valley…

No, I’m not trying to be all [click to continue…]

It ain’t easy (or cheap) trying to make ends meet in the Bay Area… That might be the understatement of the last few decades! But alas, it is what it is…

Vietnam – My Many Meals

Why would anyone want to reach early FI, particularly at such a young age, anyway? I mean seriously, you’re going to be bored out of your mind all day, doing NOTHING! Don’t you know that they’ve done research studies out there and they’ve found that people who are unproductive, lounging around all day and not using their brains actively end up becoming completely depressed people who feel totally disconnected with modern society? I mean if you’re not interacting with your co-workers on a regular basis, your brain is just gonna become mush and you’re going to feel like you’re going through life without any goals or purposes!

It’s a very depressing life…

And don’t get me started on the finances!

Dude, what are you [click to continue…]

Hong Kong – I Will Miss You Dearly!

by FI Fighter on March 22, 2017

in Hong Kong, Travel Updates

When it comes to life, everyone knows that you’ve got to approach things with an open mind. I mean, the more you know about ANYTHING, the more humble you become and the more you realize that you don’t actually know jack shit at all…

Well, that’s been my approach, anyway, and now that I’m back in the Bay Area and reflecting on the past nine months of my life, I’m more convinced than ever that having that type of  [click to continue…]
